1. So sánh đồng cấp là gì? Dùng khi nào?

So sánh đồng cấp diễn tả hai đối tượng có mức độ ngang nhau về một đặc tính. Đây là cấu trúc rất hay gặp trong email, báo cáo và quảng cáo của bài thi TOEIC khi mô tả tính năng, hiệu suất hoặc chi phí tương đương.

Ví dụ:

• This plan is as effective as the previous one.
• Our service is as fast as our competitor’s.
• The meeting was not as long as expected.

Trong TOEIC, dạng này thường kiểm tra ở Part 5–6 với các biến thể như as…as, not as/so…as, as many/much/few/little as, as + adjective + a/an + noun, as…as possible, và so sánh tương đương the same as, similar to, equal to.

2. So sánh đồng cấp: Cấu trúc cơ bản as…as

Công thức:
S + be/V + as + adjective/adverb + as + N/Pronoun

Ví dụ:

• The new app is as stable as the desktop version.
• She handled the complaint as professionally as the senior manager.

Lưu ý về vị trí từ loại:

• Dùng adjective sau “to be”.
• Dùng adverb sau động từ thường: He works as efficiently as his peers.

3. So sánh đồng cấp: Phủ định với not as/so…as

Cả “not as…as” và “not so…as” đều đúng; trong văn nói hiện đại, “not as…as” phổ biến hơn.

Ví dụ:

• The shipping fee is not as high as last quarter.
• This model is not so durable as the premium one.

Sắc thái: “not as…as” chỉ kém hơn, nhưng thường nhẹ hơn so với so sánh hơn trực tiếp.

4. So sánh đồng cấp: Mở rộng nghĩa với từ chỉ mức độ

Có thể thêm các từ nhấn mạnh đứng trước tính từ/trạng từ:

• just, exactly, nearly, almost, quite
• The results are almost as good as last year.
• Her presentation was exactly as clear as the sample video.

5. So sánh số lượng: as many/much/few/little as

• as many + plural countable noun + as: bằng về số lượng với danh từ đếm được.
  We received as many orders as in May.
• as much + uncountable noun + as: bằng về lượng với danh từ không đếm được.
  The project requires as much funding as the pilot phase.
• as few + plural noun + as: ít bằng.
  Try to make as few mistakes as possible.
• as little + uncountable noun + as: ít bằng.
  We spent as little time as necessary on rework.

6. Mẫu as + adjective + a/an + noun

Diễn tả “một … đủ … để …” hoặc “một … như…”.

Ví dụ:

• We need as detailed a report as the board requested.
• It wasn’t as serious an issue as we feared.

Lưu ý trật tự: as + adj + a/an + noun + as.

7. Cấu trúc as…as possible

Diễn tả mức tối đa trong điều kiện có thể, rất phổ biến trong email công việc.

Ví dụ:

• Please send the quotation as soon as possible.
• We will keep the meeting as short as possible.
• The team will process your request as quickly as possible.

Biến thể: as early/late/far/clearly/accurately as possible.

8. Tương đương nghĩa: the same as, similar to, equal to

• the same as: giống hệt về danh tính, đặc điểm chính.
  The new policy is the same as the old one.
• similar to: tương tự, không hoàn toàn như nhau.
  The interface is similar to the beta version.
• equal to: bằng nhau về giá trị, số lượng hoặc năng lực.
  The total cost is equal to last quarter’s budget.

So sánh:
as…as nhấn mạnh mức độ của một tính chất.
the same as nhấn mạnh sự giống hệt.
similar to nhấn mạnh nét tương đồng.
equal to thiên về bằng nhau về lượng/giá trị.

9. Lỗi sai thường gặp trong TOEIC

1. Nhầm “so” và “as” ở mệnh đề khẳng định
   Sai: The service is so fast as ours.
   Đúng: The service is as fast as ours.
   “So…as” dùng chủ yếu trong phủ định so sánh đồng cấp.
2. Quên đại từ sở hữu khi lược danh từ
   Sai: Our service is as fast as our competitor.
   Đúng: Our service is as fast as our competitor’s.
3. Sai trật tự “as adj a/an noun as”
   Sai: as a detailed report as
   Đúng: as detailed a report as
4. Dùng “many/much” sai với loại danh từ
   Sai: as much orders as
   Đúng: as many orders as
5. Lạm dụng “the same with” trong văn viết trang trọng
   Trong TOEIC, ưu tiên “the same as” thay vì “the same with”.

10. Cách dùng trong văn phong công sở/TOEIC

Email – yêu cầu, hẹn lịch:

• Please arrive as early as possible to set up the room.
• The revised plan is as feasible as the original.

Báo cáo – so sánh hiệu suất:

• The new warehouse processes orders as efficiently as the downtown facility.
• Our conversion rate is almost as high as Q2’s peak.

Quảng cáo – nêu tính năng:

• This compact model is as powerful as larger competitors.
• Battery life is as long as premium phones in its class.
