1. Tiêu chí chấm điểm trước khi giải đề IELTS Speaking Part 2 (Band Descriptors)

Để đạt band 7.0–8.0 trong Speaking Part 2, thí sinh cần hiểu rõ 4 tiêu chí chấm điểm sau:

1.1. Fluency & Coherence (Độ trôi chảy & mạch lạc)

    • Nói liên tục trong 1.5–2 phút, không ngập ngừng dài.
    • Các ý được triển khai mạch lạc theo trình tự: bối cảnh → trải nghiệm → cảm xúc.
    • Dùng từ nối tự nhiên: Honestly, To be honest, What surprised me was…, During the event…, Overall…
    • Câu chuyện có “arc” cảm xúc, không kể kiểu liệt kê.

1.2. Lexical Resource (Từ vựng)

    • Sử dụng collocations và từ vựng chủ đề “Sports & Venue”:indoor arena, tournament, setup, electronic scoreboard, versatile, adaptable, dynamic vibe…
    • Dùng idioms/phrasal verbs tự nhiên:glued to, blow someone away, lose track of, pull off, soak up.
    • Tránh lặp từ, dùng paraphrase linh hoạt: venue, arena, stadium.

1.3. Grammatical Range and Accuracy (Ngữ pháp)

    • Kết hợp:
      • Quá khứ đơn (kể lại sự kiện)
      • Quá khứ tiếp diễn (bối cảnh)
      • Cấu trúc nhấn mạnh: What I loved the most was…
      • Mệnh đề quan hệ: the arena, which is usually used for…

1.4. Pronunciation (Phát âm)

    • Trọng âm từ dài:pro-FES-sio-nal, ver-SA-tile, dy-NA-mic, in-TENSE.
    • Ngắt nhịp hợp lý, lên – xuống giọng theo cảm xúc để tạo sự sinh động.

2. Phân tích bài làm theo 

2.1. Điểm mạnh nổi bật của bài nói

    • Bối cảnh rõ ràng: nêu ngay địa điểm, đặc điểm nhà thi đấu, lý do đến đó.
    • Từ vựng phong phú: nhiều từ thuộc chủ đề địa điểm thể thao – event – cảm xúc.
    • Miêu tả sinh động: hình ảnh, âm thanh, bầu không khí đều được mô tả như “glued to the pool”, “quiet, focused energy”, “spellbinding”.
    • Cảm xúc rõ ràng: ngạc nhiên → cuốn hút → cảm hứng.
    • Cấu trúc hấp dẫn: có câu nhấn mạnh, có nhận xét cá nhân, có kết luận cảm xúc.

2.2. Vì sao bài này thuộc band 7.5–8.0

    • Fluency: không lặp từ, chuyển ý mượt.
    • Vocabulary: loạt từ high-level + phrasal verbs tự nhiên.
    • Grammar: đa dạng, không lỗi.
    • Pronunciation: bài viết cho thấy nhịp điệu rõ, dễ tạo flow khi nói.

2.3. Gợi ý nâng band thêm nữa

    • Thêm 1–2 cụm liên kết mạnh hơn:
      “What made the experience even better was that…”
    • Chèn 1 câu reflection kiểu IELTS band 8:
      “It made me realize how exciting competitive sports can be when you witness them live.”

Speaking of a popular place for sports that I’ve been to, I would like to talk about Nhà thi đấu Phú Thọ in Ho Chi Minh City, which is a super well-known indoor arena right in District 11. It’s usually famous for basketball matches, fairs, and big events, but the time I went there was actually for a swimming competition, which made the whole experience a bit more unique and memorable for me.

I went there last summer because one of my close friends was competing in a city-level swimming tournament. To be honest, I had never watched a swimming match live before, so I thought it would be a great chance to soak up something new. When I walked in, I was really surprised because the whole setup looked extremely professional, with proper lanes, electronic scoreboards, and even a super organized warm-up area. Everything felt very slick and well-coordinated, much more than I had expected from an indoor venue that’s usually used for completely different types of events.

During the competition, I was absolutely glued to the pool. The swimmers moved so fast that sometimes I literally lost track of who was in the lead. The atmosphere was surprisingly intense—every splash, every cheer, and every second on the clock felt high-stakes. The crowd wasn’t as loud as in a basketball game, but there was this quiet, focused energy that was honestly spellbinding. Watching my friend swim his heart out really blew me away.

What I loved the most about the place was how versatile and adaptable it is. The arena managed to pull off a swimming event without feeling cramped or makeshift. Overall, I felt that Phú Thọ Stadium had a really dynamic vibe, and the whole experience left me feeling recharged and inspired, even though I wasn’t the one competing.
